Jean Gédouin created Phytomer, so that everyone could experience the sea’s exceptional benefits, and launched Oligomer®, a powerful seawater concentrate.
1981
Jean’s son, Antoine Gédouin, joined the family business. He developed the company internationally and created a highly innovative, state-of-the-art, laboratory.
1991
Phytomer helped create the US spa industry by co-founding ISPA (the International Spa Association in Florida).
2000
Phytomer opened its first Spa in Saint-Malo, where treatments rhyme with relaxation and wellness.
2010
Mathilde Gédouin-Lagarde and Tristan Lagarde joined the company, contributing to the family saga of Phytomer.
2012
Phytomer created a cutting-edge laboratory specializing in marine biotechnologies and launched soon after the iconic PIONNIÈRE XMF range.
2017
Phytomer received the ECOVADIS certification for the first time, in recognition of its CSR approach, ranking it amongst the most sustainable companies.
2018
Phytomer opened its first Phytomer Spa & Wellness in Paris Champs-Elysées: a high-end spa dedicated to restorative beauty and relaxing treatments.
2020
Phytomer introduced new green and recyclable packaging. The organic line Cyfolia was launched as an ever-more clean and sustainable version of beauty.
2021
Phytomer opened its 2nd Phytomer Spa & Wellness in Paris, just a short walk from the Eiffel Tower: a welcoming atmosphere for intense relaxation.
2022
Phytomer is celebrating its 50th anniversary in more than 80 countries, in collaboration with 10,000 spas and the best massage therapists in the world.
